Q. What types and sizes of channel letter signs are available?

A. Our standard channel letter products include front-lit letters, front-lit letters with raceway, and back-lit (halo) letters in block font style. Listed sizes are 15", 18”, 21”, and 24” letter height. We can manufacture your letters in any size or letter style - we also manufacture open face neon letters, custom logo channels, etc. Contact us for a custom quote.

Q. What’s the difference in the three types of channel letters Tango provides?

A. FRONT-LIT: The front-lit design allows you many options to choose from to create a look that reflects your business's professional image. They are constructed of aluminum with Plexiglas faces and Jewelite trim. When ordering, you will select your choice of letter, face & trim colors. Also included is your choice of neon or LED illumination that projects an eye-catching glow from the front of the letter and is very noticeable from a distance. Front-lit channel letters are mounted individually onto your wall or building. An installation pattern, as well as all necessary hardware and electrical components, is included.

RACEWAY: With our raceway option, your front-lit channel letters are mounted to a slim, non-descript aluminum box which contains the necessary electrical components and adds the simplicity of a single installation point.

BACK-LIT: Our back-lit channel letters are all aluminum letters with your choice of a neon or LED light source that emits illumination from the back of the letter, casting a glow on the mounting wall. The elegant 'halo' effect of back-lit letters really grabs attention. Back-lit channel letters are mounted individually onto your wall or building. An installation pattern, as well as all necessary hardware and electrical components, is included.

Q. I don’t see the color I need. Can I specify a color other than what is shown on your product page?

A. We can color match your channel letters to the pms color or Matthews paint code that you request. There is a small fee for custom color match. Contact us for more information.

Q. What are the manufacturing specs of your Front-Lit Channel Letters?

A.   Letter Depth: 5"

Size/Height: Standard choices are 18", 21", and 24"

Mounting: Designed for mounting individually, directly to your wall

Wiring: Includes GTO wires, power supply, transformer box, switch, connection boxes, and installation pattern for easy alignment. All electrical components are UL Listed and include manufacturer's warranty.

Font: Block font style are standard. Other letter styles available by special quote.

Paint: Letters are sanded, primered, and painted with weather resistant Matthews® brand polyurethane.

Materials: Letters are constructed of .050 aluminum backs and .040 aluminum returns (sides) with drain holes. Translucent 1/8" Plexiglas® face. Jewelite® trim cap.

Q. What are the manufacturing specs of your Raceway Channel Letters?

A.   Letter Depth: 5"

Raceway Depth: 7"

Size/Height: Standard choices are 18", 21", and 24"

Mounting: Letters are attached to an aluminum raceway box which contains all electrical components and is mounted flush to your wall.

Wiring: Includes 3-wire pigtail, power supply, transformer box, and switch. All electrical components are UL Listed and include manufacturer's warranty.

Font: Block font style is standard. Other letter styles available by special quote.

Paint: Letters and raceway boxes are sanded, primered, and painted with weather resistant Matthews® brand polyurethane.

Materials: Letters are constructed of .050 aluminum backs and .040 aluminum returns (sides) with drain holes. Translucent 1/8" Plexiglas® face. Jewelite® trim cap. Raceways are constructed of.050 aluminum.

Q. What are the manufacturing specs of your Back-Lit Channel Letters?

A.   Letter Depth: 2"

Size/Height: Standard choices are 18", 21", and 24"

Mounting: Designed for mounting individually, directly to your wall. Riv-nuts with aluminum stand-off rods are included for mounting.

Wiring: Includes GTO wires, power supply, transformer box, switch, connection boxes, and installation pattern for easy alignment. All electrical components are UL Listed and include manufacturer's warranty.

Font: Block font style are standard. Other letter styles available by special quote.

Paint: Letters are sanded, primered, and painted with weather resistant Matthews® brand polyurethane. Insides of letters are painted white to best reflect illumination. 

Materials: .090 aluminum faces, .063 aluminum returns (sides) with drain holes. Clear Plexiglas® backs.

Q. Will I receive a proof of my signs prior to production?

A. You will receive a proof of your channel letters along with your order confirmation. This allows you to make any necessary changes or corrections before your sign is manufactured. No order will be sent to production without client approval.

Q. How are channel letters packaged and shipped?

A. Your channel letters will be carefully packed in a sturdy wood crate, and shipped, fully insured, with a certified freight carrier. You will receive tracking and contact information upon shipment. Please note that listed shipping rates are estimates to most commercial addresses in our standard freight zones. If you do not have a commercially zoned address, please call for assistance. Freight carriers add surcharges to areas of some states including TX, CA, WA, AZ, NH, ME, VT and AK, to residential addresses, and some rural areas. A complete street address will be submitted to the selected freight carrier to determine if surcharges apply prior to shipping your sign. Client is responsible for surcharges when they apply, and will be provided documentation from freight carrier detailing any such expense.

Q. How long will it take to get my sign?

A.   Our production time for channel letters is 2-3 weeks. The delivery time of your lighted box sign or channel letters will vary depending on your city and state location. Our National Freight Carriers deliver to any standard U.S. location within 3-6 business days.

Q. Do you install signs?

A. Tango Signs does not install signs. However, with our Permit & Installation Assist Tango will locate a reputable sign installer in your area, coordinate your delivery & installation, and provide spec sheets (sign drawings), and assist you in the process of applying for your local sign permit.

Q. Will your signs meet the sign and building codes in my area?

A. Our electric signage is manufactured in our Miami facility. While sign requirements vary from city to city, our signs are constructed to meet Miami’s stringent city codes including UL Listings, exterior safety switches, and the strength to withstand hurricane force winds of up to 140mph. Our specifications should meet or surpass the requirements in your city as well, and we would be happy to assist you in determining the codes or regulations in your area.

Q. Will you help me to obtain a local sign permit?

A. Yes. We will provide manufacturer's specifications and measurements with every order to assist with sign permit applications where needed. If you need further assistance with permits and installation, we suggest our Permit & Installation Assist.
